Same thing for us Friday afternoon but two African-American young men in ties. Asked really weird questions too like what we do for a living. We also called the police.
(No, they weren't LDS. They were selling magazines -- or so they said.)

yo these folks aren't dangerous - they're just trying to get
some money from people who have a lot more than them. I get
them at my door all the time here in LA, just be nice and
they'll leave.
