Hello all,

At least a dozen of us — representing the interests of hundreds
demanding the right to vote on the library location — met with Mayor
Widmer last week. While the mayor expressed support for our concerns,
the offer that came back to us was for the council to conduct a survey
of 200 residents.

After some deliberation, we rejected the offer for the survey, which
we feel is too little, too late, especially while the EIR is in
process of being finalized and possibly certified by the council.

At this time, we are circulating a petition to call a Special Council
Meeting to have the council reconsider some of our chief concerns. We
are asking for an opportunity for more residents to be heard on these
issues.

Please see the attached Petition form, which contains the agenda of
the meeting we are seeking. If you support our petition for the
council to reconsider these matters, please download, complete and
return one petition form for each resident that supports this. Only
forms that have original signatures will be accepted on behalf of our
petition. Please make no other markings than in the signature block.

To make it easier, you can drop your signed form into any one of the
following mailboxes, to get it back to us, or mail it to us at:

We will collect signatures and present this petition to the Town
Manager to have this meeting scheduled with the full council. When
this meeting is scheduled, we will let you know so that more residents
can present their views.
